Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using EmailPaywall ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

EmailPaywall provides an email filtering service that allows users to set up a paywall for their email inbox. Unknown senders can pay a fee to be added to your allowlist. The service works in conjunction with a Google Apps Script that you install in your Gmail account.

3. Account Registration

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Payments

Payments made through EmailPaywall paywalls are processed by Stripe. By using the payment features, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service. All payments are in USD and are non-refundable unless required by applicable law.

5. Google Apps Script

The Service requires you to install a Google Apps Script in your Gmail account. By doing so, you acknowledge that:

  • The script will automatically archive emails from unknown senders.
  • The script will send automatic replies to unknown senders with your paywall link.
  • The script will unarchive emails from senders who have been added to your allowlist.
  • You are responsible for granting the necessary Gmail permissions to the script.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages.
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Set misleading or deceptive paywall descriptions.

7. Priority Reply Tier

If you offer a "Priority Reply" tier (or similar guaranteed-reply tier), you commit to making a reasonable effort to respond to emails from senders who pay for that tier. EmailPaywall is not responsible for enforcing reply obligations.

8. Limitation of Liability

EmailPaywall is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any missed, lost, or delayed emails resulting from the use of the Service. We are not responsible for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@emailpaywall.com.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
